Birches Head Combined Sewer/Storage Stoke-on-Trent

 

During 2000 McFour Ltd were contracted by AMCO Construction to construct twin box culvert lines, large diameter elliptical pipes, and gravity pipelines to work in conjunction with their tunneling works for Stoke City Council / Severn Trent water on the Birches Head scheme.  The works involved laying the elliptical pipelines through a combination of difficult and poor ground conditions.  The box culverts were laid at depths up to 9 meters, in close proximity to a main trunk road and railway.
